Take-a-walk-in-another-man's-shoes

On Friday 23 September 2011 The Grove announced the winners in the Code to Cash – win Rmillion competition at a tenant and media function. This day was also used to celebrate the centre's 2nd Birthday as well as Disability Month (September).

The Grove-Riverside and Dischem have partnered in focusing on the quadriplegic and paraplegic societies during September. Monies were raised for local heroine, Tracy Todd, and a media lunch on Friday 23 September saw local business people and members of the press attempting to shop in the centre ... in wheelchairs ... therefore "walking a mile in another man's shoes".

For this purpose, 10 wheelchairs were sponsored by Dischem and the monies received in selling these would be allocated towards a sponsorship for Tracy Todd. The wheelchairs were then donated to a relevant charity organization.
